Tamarix Africana, This member of the Tamaricaceae is commonly named African Tamarisk and is native to western Europe, northwest Africa and the Canary Islands. It is a tall shrub or small tree, evergreen and about 3m in height. It displays a highly characteristic ramification with long, flexible branches pointing skyward. It has hardly any requirements in terms of climate or soil, most comfortable on siliceous, humid or salty terrain.
