Quercus Rubra, More often referred to as northern red oak or champion oak, this part of the Fagaceae family is native to the eastern and central parts of the US and southern Canada. It is a decidous tree of about 25m in height of reddish colouring and big leaves. Quick in growth during its early years, it is a widely used type of tree in gardening and landscaping due to its eye-catching red autumn tones. Accepting moderate heat, it prospers best on profound and fresh soil, acid and with no or very short periods of drought.
