Trachycarpus Fortunei / Chamaerops excelsa, Known under the names of Chusan palm, windmill palm or Chinese windmill palm, this tree belongs to the Arecaceae and is native to eastern and central China. It is one of the most resistant palms when facing cold, easily recognised by its hairy trunk. Offering moderate growth rates, it dwells on less fertile grounds and represents an interesting alternative when planted in rows. Used to sunny settings, it also accepts more shadowy scenarios, is easily transplanted and shows resistance against cold.
