Vitis Vinifera / Grapevine.
Vitis vinifera , The grapevine is member of the Vitaceae family. Using small leashes located on its branches to expand, this twining species has alwasy been famed for its ornamental value. There exists a wide range of differnt types of grapes. While in more humid areas the fruit is richer in water and thus less aromatic, while drier soils make for tastier grapes. Vine is sensitive to frost in springtime and likes hot, dry summers best. A hot, sunny microclimate shielded from extreme conditions is best for its development. It has no great demands in terms of soil, adapting well to limy terrain, stony and well-draining. Best avoid highly fertile grounds, as it favours more the development of the plant than its fruit.
