Citrus Aurantifolia, Commonly denominated key lime, this citrus fruit tree is native to Malaysia. Its cultivation is mainly restricted to tropical regions, given its high sensibility towards low temperatures. Its a small tree reaching 3-5m with a tendency to develop a bushy appearance, with a beauty common in citrus fruit species. Its fruits are small, yellow-greenish with a highly acid pulp. Because of its reduced growth it is indicated for uses in patios and small gardens. At present, cultivation in Spain is limited to the southern region of Malaga due to its climatic requirements. It easily adapts to less fertile soils, growing rapidly.
